Good afternoon, and CONGRATULATIONS on making it through the first day of 8th grade!
Just a couple reminders for the rest of this week:
- Please share the classroom rules and procedures we created together in class with someone in your home...your parents (please!), your pet(s), anyone. Remember, you and your peers made those rules yourselves, now it's your responsibility to hold yourself accountable throughout the year. These must be signed and returned by Monday, September 9, 2019. I've uploaded a copy to Canvas under "Syllabus" if you need another copy, and for future reference.
- Please bring your copy of The Outsiders to class tomorrow, as we will be reviewing it together in class. On FRIDAY, September 6, we will be completing our Summer Read Writing Task on the topic of characterization in The Outsiders (don't worry, we are going to talk about it a lot on Thursday in order to prepare). This is a "diagnostic" writing task, meaning I'm using it as an opportunity to "diagnose" your writing.
- Tablets will be distributed early next week.
- Parents: Just a reminder, Thursday, Sept. 12 is Back to School Night. I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you, and answering any questions you may have for me. Please feel free to contact me at anytime via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or via phone at 732-528-8800 ext. 2808
Thank you all for such an amazing first day, and for welcoming me so warmly into the Manasquan family.
