My name is Luke Akins and I teach Integrated Sports Physical Education classes here at MES. My program is a service provided by MES to cater to students with a wide range of needs. We work on different aspects of development (physical social, emotional), gross and fine motor skills, through cooperative games and play. We believe that a smaller classroom setting provides an ideal place for students to learn and practice a wide range of skills. Within the general curriculum we also focusing on social interaction, sportsmanship, teamwork and resilence. Students in this program will receive a lower student-teacher ratio with individualized attention.
This program accommodates to students who may benefit from a smaller, more focused classroom size. My goal is to provide an environment that is welcoming, builds self-esteem and promotes confidence for all of our students. This program will give your child a cooperative learning environment that increases social interaction and communication skills.
