Engineering & STEM Scholarships

  •  ASME Scholarship webpage American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Scholarships 

    • Various amounts; application window December - March 1st.
    • ASME undergraduate or graduate student members worldwide are eligible for multiple academic scholarships, with generous funding made possible by various donors through the ASME Foundation and the ASME Auxiliary.

    AIST Foundation LogoAssociation for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) Foundation

    • AIST Foundation offers 30 scholarships, 29 for $6,000 each and one for $12,000. Full-time freshmen, sophomore, and junior Engineering Students (Met, Ms, Chem, Ele, Mech, Env, Comp, Ind) may apply. Seniors, if they are going to graduate school with a qualifying GPA of 2.5, may apply. You must be a citizen from the US, Canada, or Mexico to apply.

    • Two endorsement letters required. Student must show strong interest in the steel industry. Student must be able to commit to a paid summer internship preceding the funding.

    CDM Smith Scholarship

    • The CDM Smith Scholarship Program awards $7,500 scholarships to engineering undergraduates and graduates who strive to be the best, brightest and boldest they can be.
    • To apply, you must be a high school graduate, current college undergraduate or graduate student, planning to enroll full-time in an eligible program focusing on engineering at an accredited four-year college, university for the entire 2025-2026 academic year.
    • You must also have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
    • Scholarships are awarded in the spring of each year.

    Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs Foundation Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs Scholarships 

    • Up to $2,500; NBT Trade School, Community/Technical College, or University Scholarships.
    • The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association's (FMA) foundation, "Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs"® (NBT), awards scholarships to students majoring in programs that lead to careers in manufacturing.

    • Scholarships are awarded in the spring and fall of each year.

    • Search over 500 Scholarships worth a combined total of $30 Million! NOTE: SOME of these scholarships are limited to students who have participated in VEX Robotics Competitions. 

    DoD SMART logoSMART Scholarship-for-Service Program

    • The Department of Defense (DoD) Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program is a combined educational and workforce development opportunity for bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. students to gain technical skills in critical STEM fields and support the national security mission of DoD.
    • SMART offers full tuition, summer internships, and guaranteed civilian employment with the DoD upon graduation.
    • This unique DoD scholarship program offers two opportunities:

      • The Dellums Memorial SMART Scholarship: For students with no previous college credit who intend to pursue a bachelor's degree (high school seniors may apply)

      • The SMART Scholarship: For students currently enrolled at a college or university, or with previous college credit who intend to pursue another degree

    SME Education Foundation SME Education Foundation

    • Application window November - February 1st annually.
    • Scholarships range from $1,000 - $6,000 and can be used for tuition, books or lab/course fees related to attaining a technical or engineering education.
    • Students can re-apply every year.

    SNC Women in STEM Scholarship

    • SNC and the Ozmen Foundation have established a scholarship program to assist those who identify as female and plan to, or are, currently pursuing a degree and career in a non-medical, STEM-related field for their undergraduate or graduate degree.
    • If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $7,500 award. Up to five (5) awards will be granted.
    • Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
    • Scholarships are awarded in the spring of each year.
