Mr. Hyland is a graduate of West Chester University where he was a member of the Dean's list. He double-majored with degrees in Sports Medicine and Health and Physical Education with a focus on Athletic Training. Mr. Hyland has been teaching at Manasquan High School since 1994. He wrote the curriculum for the Medical Terminology and Emergency Clinical Care & Sports Injury Management courses. Mr. Hyland is an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University and students can receive college credits for these courses. He is a professional First Aid and CPR instructor for the American Heart Association. He is a medical instructor for the NJ State Police, DOC, and NJ Transit. He was voted teacher of the year in 2006- 2007 and 2015-2016 by the Manasquan VFW. Mr. Hyland won the 2015 Gatorade Athletic Trainer of the year. This is a National award and he represented the North East region of the united states. Along with his job as the Athletic Trainer for the High School, Mr. Hyland started the student athletic training program which was created in 1994. Mr. Hyland believes that life is good and you should enjoy the little things that life has to offer.
