Educational Software
The Manasquan Board of Education provides access to computers and district-approved instructional software consistent with its obligation under N.J.A.C. 6A:13-2.1 and subject to its policies on Use of Technology (#2360) and Acceptable Use of Computer Network/Computers and Resources (#2361).
Various educational software titles are used in the District and these vary according to the age/grade level of the students and its role in any given curriculum. The software described and listed below is the District's standard set of educational software and should not be read as an exhaustive list. Other class-specific (or even student-specific) devices or software titles may be used.
Operating Systems
The vast majority of district-owned personal computing devices (desktops and laptops) run the Windows 10 Professional operating system. iPads running iOS are used in some specific classroom applications.
Software Titles
Standard software installed on district-owned Windows 10 devices, whether part of our one-to-one take-home program or on devices that remain at school, include the following:
- Microsoft Office
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Microsoft Edge (Web Browser)
- Google Chrome (Web Browser)
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft One Drive (Sync Client for Cloud Storage)
- Microsoft Publisher
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Acrobat DC
- Photoshop
- Other Adobe CC applications can be installed on-demand.
- VLC Media Player
Cloud Applications
District students and employees also have access to a wide array of cloud-based applications. These include:
- Canvas Learning Management System
- Genesis Student/Parent Portal
- iReady (Math Diagnostic Assessments)
- FitnessGram
- Microsoft Office
