• Test to Stay Program for Quarantined Individuals

Effective January 24, 2022, the Manasquan School District will be implementing a new Test-to-Stay (TTS) program in an attempt to limit the number of student and staff absences due to the COVID-19 pandemic. TTS is allowed for eligible students and staff to avoid quarantining and attend school by receiving regular, negative, COVID-19 antigen tests. This page lays out the program’s protocols and procedures. Please read it in its entirety. If you require any additional information or clarification, please contact your building principal.

The TTS program is for students and staff who would have otherwise assigned a 5-day quarantine due to being a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. A close contact is defined as being an unvaccinated individual within 6-feet of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 for 15 minutes or more during a 24-hour period within 48-hours of the positive person’s test or onset of symptoms. Once identified, a close contact will be informed of their options to either quarantine for 5-days or enter the TTS protocol for 5-days from the time the contact was made.

(Example: John had lunch with Jane on Monday, January 10 for 30 minutes without masks on. On the morning of January 12, Jane receives a positive COVID-19 test and informs the school that she was in close contact with John on January 10. John can choose to quarantine effective immediately through 5 days after the contact and return to school on January 16, or enter the TTS protocol and remain in school during this period).

Once an eligible person has opted into TTS, they will be required to be tested every day school is in session prior to entering school. Testing will take place from 6:30-9:30 AM every school day to allow students ample time to arrive early, have a specimen collected and receive their results prior to attending school for the day:  Tests will be administered in the cafetorium of Elementary School at 168 Broad Street, Manasquan, NJ 08736.

    • Manasquan HS Students should arrive to be tested between 6:30-6:45am.
    • Manasquan ES Students should arrive to be tested between 7:30-7:45am.

Only tests given at our TTS testing site will qualify for entry into the school building on any given day.  A video on what the testing experience will be like is available here:

    1. Tests can take up to 15 minutes to return results. Be sure to arrive early enough to be tested and receive your results prior to the start of school.
    2. All TTS participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the testing site, regardless of the age of the student. Any student arriving without a parent or guardian will not be permitted into the building.
    3. Enter the Manasquan Elementary School staff parking lot off Broad Street. Park in the designated area along the curb immediately outside the cafetorium entrance (Door 10).
    4. Upon entering the cafetorium via Door 10, you will be directed to a seat to wait until it is your turn to be tested.
    5. If it is your first day of testing, bring the completed and signed consent form. This only needs to be turned in once.
    6. After your specimen is collected, you will be asked to leave the school premises and wait for your results. Be sure to provide an accurate mobile number and provider on the consent form in order to ensure you receive your results in a timely manner. We ask that you do not remain parked in the Elementary School parking lot while waiting for your results, as other participants will be arriving regularly.
    7. You will receive a text message informing you of either your negative or positive test results. If negative, you can attend school as you would regularly. If positive, you should immediately begin a 10-day isolation. You will be contacted by your school nurse with specific dates and isolation protocol.
