Welcome to the 2021-22 School Year
To the Manasquan School Community:
I hope this communique finds you all safe and secure. In the lead-up to our opening of school tomorrow, over the past several weeks we’ve had a number of successful events welcoming our students back to school.
This is a follow-up to my letter of August 16 with several updates and points of information as we begin the school year.
- School Lunch – Like last year, school lunch will be provided at no cost to all students. The lunch provided will be National School Lunch Program compliant which does not include a la carte items. This is a national program funded through the federal Department of Agriculture.
- Positive COVID-19 Case Notifications – The District will notify the school community via email each business day when a positive COVID-19 case is reported to us. This notification will include the number of reported positive cases broken down by student or staff for each building.
- Symptom Screening – I again request that all parents screen their children for COVID-compatible symptoms prior to coming to school. Students exhibiting any signs of any illness should not come to school. While we will continue symptom screening when students arrive at school, parents play a critical role in identifying illness in their own children.
- Masking – Due to the Governor’s executive order #251 (and supplemental language in executive order #253), masks are required on all individuals indoors in NJ schools with specific exceptions as listed in the executive order found here.
As you can see from the above, health and safety will continue to be at the forefront of our school operations this year.
I look forwarding to greeting all our students tomorrow morning for the start of another magical year.
Yours in Education,
Frank Kasyan, Ed.D.
