Notification of Positive COVID-19 Test Results
November 19, 2020
To the Manasquan School Community:
This message is to inform you that the District was notified that three additional Manasquan High School students received a positive COVID-19 test result. Additionally, one other student who does not attend MHS but does participate in an MHS extracurricular activity also tested positive. Based on the available information, it appears all these new cases are related to another case reported earlier this week and transmission did not occur inside the school building.
The last time any of these students were on our campus was Saturday, November 14 engaged in outdoor extracurricular activities.
While confidentiality restrictions prevent us from sharing additional details, upon notification of the positive test results, the District engaged in contact tracing. All identified close contacts of the infected individuals were identified and already contacted and are now in a mandatory quarantine.
According to our restart and recovery plan, you will be notified of any positive COVID-19 cases for staff or students that occur as we move forward.
As you are aware, in response to recent COVID cases, Manasquan High School is currently closed for in-person instruction and has transitioned to fully remote learning through the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Yours in education,
Frank Kasyan, Ed.D.
