    Dear Parents & Guardians:

First, let me compliment your efforts to help us continue learning from home in the face of unprecedented challenges.

The Department of Education has advised us that the decision when schools will re-open rests with the Governor, and therefore we will remain closed until such directive is issued by the State government.

Our District’s current plan during our closure is to continue home instruction and remote learning which has been highly successful to date.

As we have now completed two full weeks of running our normal bell schedule online for grades 6 – 12, we will be surveying parents soon regarding this and appreciate your feedback about how this is working for you and your family.

Last week we surveyed parents and our staff regarding continuing home instruction during our planned Spring Recess week of April 13-17 to shorten our school year.  Of the 612 parents who responded, 532 (87%) indicated they would prefer to continue online learning during Spring Recess.  A similar proportion of our staff agreed.

Accordingly, we will be continuing home instruction and virtual learning during the week of April 13-17th.  (Friday, April 10 will remain a closed/no instruction day.)  The addition of these five days of instruction will result in our students’ last day of school scheduled for Friday, June 12.  A revised school calendar will be published next week.

We will also be running an early dismissal schedule on Monday, April 6 for teacher articulation.

As you know, our staff continues to work remotely but can be emailed or called and will respond to those messages.  Should you have a general question to be addressed by your school building, please leave a message at:

Thank you again for your support.

    Yours in education,

    Frank Kasyan, Ed.D.
