Overview:The purpose of the Book Club is to encourage and promote an interest in the love of reading. The American Library Association has recognized the book club as an exemplary after-school program for young adults in the United States. Students in the Book Club read selected books and gather for book discussions after school as well as participate in online discussions with each other. The advisor of the book club is Mrs. Dina Elms, Guidance Counselor. The Book Club had the pleasure of participating in Read Across America Day at the elementary school.
The Book Club went to Mrs. Boyes Kindergarten class to present a performance based on the book, What's the Magic Word by Kelly DiPucchio
The Book Club hosted best-selling young adult author Jessica Brody on Thursday, February 23rd. She spoke with junior and senior English classes as well as the screenwriting and creative writing.
